Good question, but considering Adam and Eve's "Original Sin" means that all man is born into sin unless he repents and accepts the lord as his savior, maybe you'd be better asking god why punishing ALL unborn humans for crimes of the original humans we had nothing to do with is fair. Though I guess this depends on your flavor of Christianity.. Catholics for example, if the kid isn't baptized as a baby and died then it'd be stuck in purgatory forever. Your god has been punishing unborn people from the beginning.
