I'm 14 and I always cringe when I see other kids like that. I was raised in mexico doing mission work with gang members, so the concept of poverty was something I grew up with, even though my table never lacked. I came back to the US once yearly and was always astonished at how demanding the kids are here. My mom offered me an iPhone once (I didn't have any kind of phone and still don't. I'm using a cheap Chromebook). and I politely declined and told her to put the money in the Drug Rehab funds (We run a rehab, yes). If only these kids in America saw how kids their age are LACKING in mexico. All I want from my family is for them to read my writing, maybe even listen to me ramble about a cool thing I read. I'm so lucky to have been raised this way in a loving and grateful family, even if they're too busy to listen sometimes or read my stuff.
