In reality a fellow Army dude that was undercover in the artillery unit I was first in at ft hood turned me in to a sheriff in some town on the way to see my v8 converted 1980 RX-7 for having a commemorative bat and an oss dagger that I use twirl around. Mind you I had already been a veteran in the Marines and private security for the Army corps of engineers in Washington DC before that happened. I used to twirl all kinds of different metal and wooden articles. The arrest costed me a setback in avionics school later when I reclassified MOS and I even became an MP later on. 8 MOS worth of training by the time I finished 28 years in the military. No you can't have anything to protect yourself, I went to jail in Texas for that miniature bat and dagger under their "switchblade and brass knuckles" law.
