Creepy Condescending Wonka in fun

Of course, God could turn Obama into a french fry on the golf course with one lightning bolt, but He didn't. Which means He didn't want to. Effective praying, my friend. I feel inspired. Maybe I will pray for Trump after all - since it does so much good and all.

So, assuming what you are saying is true, then, do you mean to suggest that an omnipotent God could not influence Obama? By the very definition, God can influence whomever He wants - and make both Trump and Obama better people. The suggestion to pray for Trump and not Obama is meant as a way to say "I know Trump is not a good man, so this makes me feel better about electing him. But I wanted Obama to fail because I would rather see someone I hate fail rather than help him to progress to something I believe is better." That is choosing hatred for the sake of hatred. Every time someone suggests that I should just pray for Trump instead of voicing my concern with his platform, I ask them if they prayed for Obama. I have yet to hear anyone say they had.

I'm gonna go back to my previous statement, though. I think this conversation proves my point. " Neither one of us convinces anyone but those who already share our views."

I wasn't mocking God, actually. I was calling into question the assumption that He would be powerless to help one man and not another. I hear this all the time - that Trump may be flawed, but that our prayers can help make him a better man. If this is so, it was also possible for Obama. I wish we, as a people, were as willing to pray for those that disagreed with us as much as those that align with our views.

"I don't know what the incoherent RIGHT-WING gibberish in your meme means, but you very obviously know nothing and can communicate even less." It's disheartening because no matter what either one of us says, the other can say the exact same thing back. I very obviously am liberal and you very obviously are conservative. I use memes to vent some of the frustration at what I see in the world around me, as do you. Neither one of us convinces anyone but those who already share our views. Two sides constantly going back and forth. Bright future for us all. :(
