This is why lgbt people turn away from god. âChristiansâ attack us and pressure us until weâre traumatized, until we feel sick at the thought of religion, until weâre scared to enter church. You make us believe that we are not loved, that we will never be forgiven, that we are mistakes, that we will never be welcomed.
If god doesnât make any mishaps, then why did he create my body and mind to love the same gender? I cannot physically react to a man as a straight girl can. If god doesnât make any mishaps, then why did he make me depressed? I cannot be joyful as a stable person can, even though he wants me to be happy.
If god says to be kind, why did you insult my cousin? If you donât like their style, then thatâs that, you donât have to shove it in their face. If god says to be accepting, why canât you leave our opinions alone? If you donât agree, then thatâs that, you donât have to shove it in our face.
Now, Iâm done here. I will no longer respond, but that doesnât mean I believe your convictions. I like sharing beliefs, especially about religion, but Iâm not going to try and force someone to belive my personal convictions.
And honestly, Iâm not attempting to changes your opinions. I just want you to leave us alone. You may invite us to church or just be overall loving. But negatively commenting? You can keep that in your head.
