I saw long-assed lines at my polling place of people held up for this bullshit. Also, if you don't know, the NC Supreme Court is packed with McCrory's toadies who would of course condone this horseshit, since it's the only thing that might let him keep his job after November. This is why we have higher courts, to get an opinion from judges that are less at risk of being Yes-Men for one single state government, so we can get another opinion to need be. You think the North Carolina DMV is easy to get to if you have to take the bus or quick and easy to enter and leave? Oh boy you really ain't from North Carolina. I live in an actual city and my nearest DMV was out in the sticks, 30 mins away by car, and our public transportation ain't great (what a shock, I know) so it's a hella lot longer if you can't avoid a car. Also, the DMV in NC makes Flash (*spoilers* outside his car *end spoilers*) from Zootopia look like Flash from the Justice League. If you're working two jobs and/or have little kids to take care of, and a lot of poor people do (a lot of whom tend to be black), that can force them to take time off they can't afford or just give up their rights to vote for, again, something that's less likely to happen than someone getting hit with a lightning bolt. Also, beyond race, a lot of students that come here and want to stay and/or vote in NC don't realize they need to have a state photo ID, not just a photo ID from any state. So they come to the polls and find out they can't vote. For a problem so rare it's basically non-existent. And don't be like "Well it doesn't target blacks (and again, see the Fourth Circuit Appeals Court's ruling,) just poor people and students." That really won't help your case if you try and make that argument.
