Define fact? Because I'm confused. A clear confession from Reyes and his DNA evidence confirmed in Meili's rape are merely accusation? Not fact? Are you saying that the Central Park 5 should still be in jail? I'm sure that Reyes' confession and DNA is the reason why DA Morgenthau vacated their charges in 2002. Trump stated in 2014, "..."Speak to the detectives on the case and try listening to the facts. These young men do not exactly have the pasts of angels." Which is confusing to me, because whatever the past of these "inner city/urban" kids is irrelevant to the case. Trump is no angel himself with his past of sexual assault allegations including rape, racial housing discrimination, defrauding millions of students with Trump University and paying a $25 million settlement, four official bankruptcy filings and so on.

Without a doubt some media is an extension of political establishment. But, when the new leader of the free world does his part over, and over, and over again to successfully spread erroneous material and hate speech to the masses it's very telling of Trump's moral character. And to me, that's a far more bigger problem than media bias. Clearly Trump has an affinity for fake news since he's done beyond his fair share of spreading it as fact. You can't deny that our President has done this.
Bloomberg refusing to settle for decades because him and his lawyers felt the five would win is also political. Racial climate aside in NYC during the late 80's, police officers who take an oath to serve and protect should not have coerced five teenage boys into confessing to a heinous crime they did not commit. To me, that's the bigger problem than any political influence for settlement on either side.
