Deathverse: The Hammer Ain't Slow, Chief. in gaming

"The Only thing that can challenge the speed of the almighty hammer is a faster weapon." - Gandhi
"Okay, I'll challenge the speed of the almighty hammer with Katana, the second fastest weapon in the game." - A small game developer.

"No, not that! You need something faster." - Jeff Bridges

"... The Machete? For a hammer that won't shield?" - Dev

"Absolutely. If you hit the shield, you would've lost, anyway." - Gandhi

"That's not the point-- Why is the slowest, highest-damage, risk-reward, heavy hitter, Smash Bros Bat, heart attack weapon faster than a Katana?! It's about the principle-- The hammer can get away with spamming, but the katana absolutely CAN'T punish the hammer for doing so?" - Dev

"There's been no mistake. If you blocked, instead of spammed, yourself, you would not have--" - Gandhi

"Listen up. The hammer earned its hit, the time it chained that entire string of combos. At that point, the faster weapon should have priority because it's faster-- Not because the hammer won't block. A Katana can punish the Machete, the literal fastest weapon, the moment the machete's combo ends. The only way to avoid being punished after your attack IS to block-- the Hammer, on principle, doesn't need to block the katana to avoid being punished by it. All it requires is the katana attempting to retaliate and CHALLENGE the weapon in a speed-game. A game the machete loses, but the Hammer always wins. The problem isn't solely the blocking, it's why the blocking didn't matter.

The entire demonstration is a highlight about game balance, not a baseless or completely uncritical and unexplained complaint about it. The point of a critique IS to highlight a problem AND to explain why it's a problem. And I don't regret giving it, even if people are too dense to TAKE it." - Dev
"That's the point!" in fun

Imagine balancing a game, but forgetting to add ending-land on the highest per-hit damage weapon's standard hit, making them faster than a light weapon, better than a light weapon and more dangerous and unbalanced than any OTHER weapon.
