I've just got to say, most of my friends (all girls) are the polar opposite. One of my friends broke her ankle and just sat on a bench, crossed her legs, and read a book. Not even crying. Didn't even think it was broken until she got the x-ray. She also broke her toe once and walked around normally for a month until getting it x-rayed and finding out it was broken.
So not all girls act like this :)
Oh yeah, it's because your voice sounds different to yourself than it does to other people. So don't worry about it, everyone else is too busy stressing about their own insecurities to notice anyway :)
