THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS
Unfortunately, the current trend across America is that if Christmas falls on a Sunday, it’s not only the least attended service, but some Churches will actually cancel services. And believe it or not, I think I know why. People, even in the Church, have forgotten The True Meaning of Christmas. You see, Christmas is not merely about gathering around with family and eating copious amounts of food and opening gifts. And it’s certainly not about a bloated guy flying around in a sleigh named Santa Claus. It’s about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ into this world so that you and I could have a beautiful loving intimate personal
relationship with the Creator of the Universe. In fact, this study, The True Meaning of Christmas reveals how Jesus went to great lengths to make sure we didn’t miss this point, and that’s seen when we compare our relationship with Him in the Bible as the Bride of Christ, to the Seven Phases of a Jewish Marriage Ceremony. The True Meaning of Christmas not only unveils this amazing parallel, but it opens our eyes to a two-fold message from Jesus that’s been tucked away all along in the Bible. First, He loves His bride an awful lot, even to the point where He would give His life for her. Secondly, we all need to make sure we really belong to Him as His Bride. Otherwise, one day we will find ourselves shut out from the Marriage Supper of the Lamb! Don’t miss out on The True Meaning of Christmas! | image tagged in christmas, holiday, bible, christ, the meaning of life, bride | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

WHERE EXACTLY DO WE LIKLY SEE JESUS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT? It's the important issue of “theophanies" and “Christophanies." "Theos" is God and the rest of the word means “appearances." "Christos" is "Christ" so Christophanies is the theological term meaning this: Even though Jesus took on a human-flesh virgin birth at His First Coming, a lot of theologians say, because He's eternal, prior to that time, there were preincarnate (before Christ took on a human body), experiences of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. How can He do that? Well, He is God, which means He's eternal, being able to appear whenever He'd like. But the time we focus on is when He became a baby that grew to be a man, who saved the world by dying on a cross for our sins. A few quick Old Testament examples are these: First, the many appearances of the "Angel of the Lord."; Some say that very well could have been Jesus. And it's not alarming to say “angel" for Jesus because the term actually means "messenger," or "angelos" in Greek. So in the Old Testament instances with the "Angel of the Lord, or "messenger of the Lord," Jesus the Son delivered the message Himself. It does not mean He's an angel. Other possible appearances of Jesus in the Old Testament are Genesis Chapter 12, where the Lord appeared to Abraham. Some say that's also an example of Christophany and theophany. Genesis 18 tells us Abraham had two angel visitors, along with God himself. So some say that was probably Jesus. Genesis 32 was Jacob wrestling all night long with a man, which, instead, was God. Who do you think that probably was? Again, many would say it was probably a preincarnate Jesus. Other possibilities are in Exodus 24 and Deuteronomy 31. So examples go on and on and you can look deeper into it if you'd
like to learn more about those kind of Christology issues. | image tagged in christ, old testament, bible, jesus, god, christian | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

GET A LIFE! A true testimony of the earthly-rags to heavenly-riches story of Pastor Billy Crone who, by the grace of God, turned from drug addiction, heavy-metal head banging, sexual immorality, and male chauvinism, to a preacher of Christ’s gospel. | image tagged in gospel, god, heavy metal, drugs, christ, addiction | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

HOW DO WE KNOW THE BIBLE IS FROM GOD?
Josh McDowell: “[The Bible was] written over a 1500-year span; over 40 different generations; written by more than 40 authors, from every walk of life—including kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermen, poets, statesmen, scholars, etc. Moses, [was] a political leader trained in the universities of Egypt, [Peter was a fisherman,] Amos, a herdsman, Joshua, a military general, Nehemiah, a cup-bearer, Daniel, a prime minister, Luke, a doctor, Solomon, a king, Matthew, a tax collector, and Paul, a rabbi. [The Bible was] written in different places: Moses in the wilderness, Jeremiah in a dungeon, Daniel on a hillside and in a palace, Paul inside prison walls, Luke while traveling, John on the island of Patmos, [and] others in the rigors of military campaigns. [The Bible was] written at different times: David in times of war [and] Solomon in times of peace. [The Bible was] written during different moods [with] some writings from the heights of joy and others from the depths of sorrow and despair. [The Bible was] written on three continents: Asia, Africa, and Europe, [as well as] in three languages; Hebrew, [some portion in] Aramaic, and the New Testament language, [Koine] Greek." Also, these people mostly didn't know each other, especially since they were from different generations. They could not cross-reference their writings. And yet, the Bible never once contradicts itself and has the same message throughout, which is God's redemption of man through Christ's work on the cross. | image tagged in bible, god, jesus, truth, christian, christ | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
