Tom Fulp, the founder of Newgrounds, is the creator and owner of the American Flash Media franchise Pico. Darnell's Pyro 101, Nene Interactive Suicide, and Pico's School—referred to as "Chapter 1" of the series—were released one after the other in early 1999, marking the start of the IP.
