DAY 2: CAN ANYONE BE ROYAL? [2 of 2] Even though God could have scrapped His human project, having no need of us rebellious children who often grieve Him, God decided to send His only Son—the Prince who volunteered—to perform the princely act of sacrificing His earthly life. Jesus unexpectedly came to rescue us, and right now this universe-owning Prince is building palaces, eagerly waiting for the day when His Father tells Him to come back to the air above our world, catch all His royal sons and daughters up to meet Him there, and whisk us away to be in heaven with Him. Christ will be coming for every Christian—all His princely people. And our titles are not just for gaining entrance into heaven’s royal balls and buffets; we are set to rule and reign with Jesus on earth and in the heavens, living lovingly, peacefully, and joyfully ever after, forever, and ever, and ever. When I began to explain all this to my daughter Rebecca, her eyes lit up like I had not seen before— she got it! I said something like: “Rebecca, that is what’s so cool about being a Christian. The world only offers make-believe stories of unattainable royal lives in non-existent lands. But with Jesus, you truly are Princess Rebecca!” I think these nobility themes are constantly added to our stories because we inwardly know this earthly life goes by in a flash, and we have an eternity coming—that is meant to be spent in God’s kingdom. Whether we acknowledge His sovereignty or not, He has put it on our hearts. However, this regal future can be squandered by those too self-absorbed to want a relationship with their Creator—the same issue Satan had that led to him creating sin. But our glorious, princely position is real and every Christian has it—right now! The next stop is Jesus coming to get us, escorting His people to His heavenly kingdom where we will spend years at a massive victory celebration with God, after which we fellow princes and princesses will ride back to earth with Jesus, where we will rule and reign with Him in His millennial kingdom. After those thousand years spent watching over the earth with God, He will create new heavens and a new earth—a new, sinless creation! So, that’s who we are, Christian princes and princesses. DAY 5: ARE TODAY’S CHRISTIANS BEING FED MEAT? The vast majority of modern churches are leaving out much of the meat from God's Word. Instead, they are dishing out tranquilizing “happy stuff,” doctrine that tickles the congregation’s ears and makes them feel good. Though people in the pews may think they're becoming students of the Word, they are not. The Church trend in these last days is to force and keep churchgoers in the baby stage. As they’ve been taught to, many Christians have even dutifully attended Church on Wednesdays and Sundays for years, thinking they are getting nutritious food, but it’s mostly fluff, so they are really kept in spiritual diapers. This means they are being set up to fall for most all the lies that come along from the mouths of false teachers. Acts 2 tells us that even the early Church had to deal with Satan’s efforts to cloud the truth through his false teachers, and other passages warn that those efforts will have been greatly ramped up in these past, last decades. The Bible lets us know that false, demonic teachings from deceitful spirits—workers of iniquity—will be all around us. And today, that is exactly what we see! DAY 6: AGAINST WHAT DO WE TEST EVERY CLAIM OF TRUTH? Scripture instructs us to test everything we are told to ensure that it is godly and not from Satan. How do we know something is from God? Because what he says is always true. God is always holy. That means He is without sin and never gets anything wrong. You may not like what He does or demands of you, but He never does anything wrong. Though you may not understand what He is doing, trust that He works all things together for our good, because He is good and does not lie. But Satan is the father of all lies. So, always compare God’s Word with whatever comes from any person’s mouth; if it doesn’t jibe with God’s Word, toss out every part of it that is not from God! People today are not doing that, and Scripture tells us that it is because the god of this world, Lucifer, is blinding people’s minds, so they won't believe. How does he do that? What is his top tool? The devil gets men and women away from the one source of truth—the Bible. DAY 17: IS YOUR CHURCH PRACTICING HINDUISM? [1 of 2] When I was first saved out of the New Age movement, I went directly into Bible college and what I considered to be the Christian “Church world.” Of course, being new to Christianity, I found it easy to join fringe groups and not recognize them as such. I started attending different Church services and reading the Bible. At one point I ended up at a livelier congregation, and upon familiarizing myself with what they were doing, skeptical questions began entering my mind about their supposedly Christian faith practices. Those thoughts went something like: “Wait a second, are you saying that enough faith will allow me to determine my own reality, magically being able to receive a new car, a house, or whatever I want?” The congregation turned out to be involved with the “Word of Faith” movement, which might as well be called “New Age,” and both are just forms of old-fashioned Hinduism. | image tagged in jesus | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
