IS BIBLE PROPHECY TOO HARD TO UNDERSTAND? No. God’s inspired Word in the Bible was written so all can understand. And how can we pastors call ourselves faithful shepherds, who completely love our sheep, if we skip a quarter to a third of the Bible? Alistair Begg: “It takes a whole Bible to make a whole Christian.” J Vernon Magee: “God put the cookies down on the lower shelf so even the kids could get to them.” Dr David Cooper, founder of The Biblical Research Society: "When the plain sense of Scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense; therefore, take every word at its primary, ordinary, usual, literal meaning unless the facts of the immediate context, studied in the light of related passages and obvious and fundamental truths, indicate clearly otherwise." Problems develop when people begin to read their own ideas into the Bible. And though all of the Bible is a blessing for us to read and study, God says Bible Prophecy will bring us a triple blessing. It also keeps us from becoming too worldly minded, because we are not saved for this messed up version of the earth, but for the world to come. So, Bible prophecy lets us know about our amazing future! When the Rapture of Christians happens at any expected minute now, we go to heaven to be with God for some years of celebration, and then follow Jesus back to earth, where we will rule and reign with Christ for a thousand years in His Millennial Kingdom. And it gets even better: then the earth is renovated into a new creation that turns it back into a Garden of Eden, after which we will live in peace with all creatures, allowing us to have pet lions, tigers, and bears— oh my. Who wouldn't want to be here for that? No one has a brighter future than Christians, which is the message from Bible prophecy. WHO WILL WITNESS TO THE WITNESS? While witnessing for Christ, remember to love others to Jesus; don't try to win a debate. Jehovah's Witnesses believe Jesus is the Archangel Michael, but even in their “unique” version of the Bible—the "New World Translation," or “NWT”—it still shows that Jesus is God. By the way, they always call God by the name, "Jehovah.” Here are some steps for conversations with Jehovah’s Witnesses who come to your house, giving you an excellent opportunity to help them: 1. At the door, in their NWT Bible, ask them to show where it says Jesus is Michael the Archangel. They can't. 2. About Michael, their NWT says this in their Daniel 10 and 12: "One of the foremost princes," "the prince of [Daniel's] people," and "the great prince who is standing.” 2a. About Jesus, the NWT says He is "Lord of Lords and King of Kings" (Revelation 17:14, NWT). That title expresses a much higher level of authority than “foremost prince.” 3. Michael is "The archangel [who]...did not dare to bring a judgment against [Satan] (Jude 9, NWT)." Michael did not dare rebuke Satan, but Jesus did: "Go away, Satan! (Matthew 4:10, NWT).” 4. The angels worship Jesus, so He is superior to angels, and here are some great quotes about that: "For to which of the angels did He ever say, 'You are my Son, today I have begotten You?’ ” But about Christ, God says this: “I will be a Father to Him and He shall be a Son to Me?” And again, when God brings His first born into the world, He says, “And let all the angels of God worship Him.” 5. Angels refuse to be worshiped (Revelation 22:8-9), but the Father commands His angels to worship His Son, Jesus (Hebrews 1:6). IS WITCHCRAFT BEING PROMOTED TO OUR CHILDREN? [2 of 2] As a way to sell occult practices to us and our children, witchcraft is purposely being made palatable, getting a positive spin that most of us have seen for many years now from huge influencers like Disney, who collects witchcraft traditions from the around the world, portraying them as helpful and fun. Entertainment’s campaign to endear occult practices in the minds of our children has been extremely effective, so today’s cartoons are getting more and more blatant in their promotion of the occult and witchcraft methods. In the past with cartoons like Bugs Bunny, the worst we had to worry about was our kids seeing a hammer hitting a character on the head. Witches used to be shown as ugly, evil entities that our children would never want to emulate, old hags that had huge pimply noses, big floppy black hats, and cackled as they flew around on their brooms. IS BIBLICAL COMMUNION THE REAL BODY AND BLOOD OF JESUS, OR IS THE SACRAMENT ONLY SYMBOLIC? Catholic leadership’s version claims Jesus constantly gives out His real blood and body all over the world each day as people take communion, constantly sacrificing himself on tables and in cups all around the planet. So, it would not be just the one sacrifice Christ made for all time: Catholicism is putting Jesus in the position of having to climb back up on the cross each day, and supposedly keep sacrificing His body for each person whenever he or she decides to take communion. Along those lines, it’s interesting to note how Catholicism developed this idea in the early centuries AD, when Roman Emperor Constantine combined Christian and pagan beliefs into a new religion that could be acceptable to those in both camps; thus, bringing all of society under Roman religious rule, creating a union of people groups that later became Roman Catholicism. As far as evidence of pagan beliefs being incorporated into biblical Christianity—to make a new religion that was to be based on occult practices—the Catholic Eucharist is the same practice as the earlier pagan Mithraism: "Mithraism was another religion at that time of the Roman Empire, which was very popular... One of the key features of Mithraism was a sacrificial meal, which involved eating of the flesh and the drinking of the blood of a bull. Mithras, the god of Mithraism, was [supposedly] ‘present' in the flesh and blood of the bull, and when consumed, granted salvation to those who partook of the sacrificial meal.” Likewise, Catholicism teaches that Communion’s bread and wine become Christ’s actual body and blood that we eat and drink. However, when Jesus said, "this is my body" and "this is my blood," it was symbolic; just as it is when the Bible also says Jesus is a rock and a door; He is not—literally—either of those, just like he is not baked bread or grapes that have been made into wine. IS WITCHCRAFT BEING PROMOTED TO OUR CHILDREN? [1 of 2] Cartoons today are demonstrating witchcraft techniques, actually showing our kids how to perform dark rituals, spells, and incantations. The practice is even blatantly being sold to them as a good way to get back at their enemies from school. In one example, the “hero” of the story is a teenage witch who draws a pentagram on her bedroom floor, and then sits in it to conjure up a demon that will target and destroy those who have been mean to her. You may think I'm joking, but this “Maddie” cartoon is out there for any child to stumble across, and has even been dubbed into other languages. It stars a young girl with a satanic upside-down cross on her shirt and drawings on her school locker of a demon with hearts around it, seemingly to show it is her lover or she loves the demon. And her demon drawings are openly gruesome: the demons are ripping other children’s guts out. So, if a child is mad at another, this cartoon shows them how to get revenge by conjuring up a demon to destroy someone.
