When I first got on, I felt it was mostly kids and I thought I was in the minority. There were some comment threads and there were definitely a number of teenagers commenting their age. But since then it seems I just run into those of my generation, based on the references, and some users revealed their age in the 30s and 40s. I'm guessing the split between adults and kids might be 50/50. I'm also wondering what the longevity is for kids vs adults. Do kids stay on the site longer or do adults, and then move on? Are the top 100 mostly adults? I don't think it is a lack of kids that is not getting you votes. Making a popular meme is actually not easy, although it might look easy. I've failed many times with some memes not even getting a single upvote. But time spent on the site, especially in the Recent tab, will help you see what works and what doesn't, and if you keep trying with that in mind, you will be successful. When you browse the Recent tab, note the memes that generate comments in response, this is a good indication, as well as a few upvotes. Note that even a good meme needs good timing which is somewhat random and not under your control. A potential front pager may not be seen enough if it features at a time when users are not on the site.
