Yes, it is same thing. A lot of people become disabled after working and paying into the system. Helping out a fellow man because he is disabled is a far cry from doling out tax payer's money to able bodied slack-offs! And what is wrong with a college student paying back money lent to provide him with a career?

You can't be serious. Social Security is comprised of Retirement (Old Age), Survivors and Disability Insurance. That's that the RSDI (OASDI) stands for. It's exactly the same thing, except "disabled" people have paid even less and have much less strict qualifications to receive. And if you think the Disability part of Social Security goes to the truly disabled, you need to read up and open your eyes.

there's nothing wrong with having social programs in a capitalist society... using the bernie line of reasoning (as encapsulated in this meme), the european socialist countries should abandon socialism because there are capitalist elements in their economies and legal structures.
