It's probably a generation thing but my first thought after reading the title was this...

Lol. Yea, I wrote the meme then came up with title. I'm wondering where all the Statesman have gone, you know? There used to be people of honor, and of their word. That's where that line from Mrs. Robinson popped into my head, so I made it the title. You got what I was getting at, I'm sure!

It's the same here in the UK. Career politicians who are too scared of giving the wrong answer that they don't give any answer. The meme was actually a reference to the band "The Lemonheads" who covered Mrs. Robinson hence the generation thing, but it works for the politicians as well :)

I maybe generational, but when I was younger and people like my grandparents and that generation was around, you damn well better do what you say your gonna do! And your word was everything, and bullshit wasn't tolerated for an instant! That's what I was taught as a kid, it's not the same anymore, and I miss that! ;). Thanks for the comment! :)

I hate to be cynical, but I think people get the politicians they deserve. I think that most of the American people want politicians who will lie to them.

I agree with you on that, but there were better choices in the past. I'll take a J.F.K., a Barry Golderwater, Reagan, (no Carter!) Gerald Ford, shit, Nixon didn't do anything as bad as this mofo president we have! There are only terrible choices now, I don't like any of them! See angle I'm heading while agreeing with you? :)
