That's the problem, people who vote based on their own personal interest, and not for the good of the country as a whole.

Like "trickle down" economics? We tried that. Doesn't work. Time to take the power back.

You will never hear a socialist say that they will make the poor more wealthy, always the wealthy poorer.

Well the truth is that even Bernie has his wealthy donors or friends that he has no problem with. Remember, he's a politician, and like any politician, most of what he says is bullshit anyway.

Bernies donors are WORKERS. Hillary's are banks. Basically the same for the entire GOP side (except Trump) SEE BIGGER: http://i.imgur.com/vUVatUt.png

Bernie also raises more money than anyone from small donors (less than $200....yes two HUNDRED dollars)

What % of Americans pay taxes??? What % get handouts? Where does the US rank in the world for paying high corporate taxes?

Non-working non-taxpaying people do not employ working class Americans. But libs always want to punish the "Big Corporations". And what happens... ? They move their business out of the country ... and put more people out of work. Share the wealth junk don't work. It creates a welafare state...

LOL...nah. Explain the 50's. 90% highest tax bracket. Unions were stronger than ever. CEOs made WAY less compared to workers. Today- the corporations sit on TRILLIONS of dollars, record levels of profits, stock markets are higher than basically ever, worker productivity is all time highs and the richest get richer while the roads and bridges and schools fall apart and the real wages of the real workers of the country haven't moved in 30 years.

Something is wrong. Like Obama said....it' wasn't the poor people on welfare (or the workers) that caused the economic collapse.

PS- you asked "What % of Americans pay taxes???"- WE ALL DO. We all pay taxes: income, sales, property, etc

Let me ask you a few questions (and my answers):

Who benefits from welfare (or other social program) money? Sure the recipient does....but how about after they spend it? Grocery stores, Walmart, etc. Those "welfare queens" provide jobs when they spend that tax money.

Why do you never see corporate pushback to welfare? Because the answer would be: "OK....give them jobs"

Why doesn't anyone on the right/conservative side get more upset about the CORPORATE WELFARE and subsidies that cost us WAAAAAY more in tax money than social welfare programs? Who benefits from those welfare dollars? The top brass and shareholders....who are typically better off than the average working class Joe.

Rich get richer from OUR tax money. The poor stay poor but at least they spend it in the community. Fix Corporate welfare, subsidies and taxes first....then worry about all the working poor and non working poor. Its a MUCH bigger issue to tax payers in that order.

Start over,.. What % of workers in America pay INCOME taxes? What % are on the teat? There is most of the problem. What % pay "most" of the income taxes? Have any corporations moved out of the USA because of high corporate taxes?
[deleted]

Not sure about WORKERS that don't pay income taxes....I assume if you make less than $6500 a year you wouldn't pay since that's the standard deduction?

On the teat? That's hard to say to. Let's say Gramma worked menial jobs all her life and retired at 65 and went on SS. In reality she exhausted all her "pay in" to SS by age 80 but she lives to be 100. Is she "on the teat" for 20 years? Because there are A LOT of those folks out there.

"Have any corporations moved out of the USA because of high corporate taxes?"- I am sure, but "high corporate taxes" are a matter of opinion, loopholes, subsidies, offshore banks, tax havens etc. Our tax rate is higher than many countries but we give our corporations BILLIONS in welfare and loopholes that allow many HUGE companies to not pay any taxes. Like Boeing.

Your examples of grammas are the few and teat takers are the many. We are a welfare state.. and adding immigrants with no language or skills that can integrate into the economy without taking more resources away from the economy. We are teetering on a financial collapse says anyone not being told to lie and manipulate stats by obama. You Know It too bro..

Why don't any republicans have an issue with (illegal) immigrants? Hint: they don't have a plan. Getting rid of them would cost billions. Many pay into SS with false numbers or numbers of dead people with no hope of collecting on it. The jobs they would leave open are low paying and Americans won't work that cheap. Their corporate buddies would have to pay more and they don't like that.

I don't think we are teetering on financial collapse but if we are it's surely firmly the fault of those IN power WITH the money. Even they know it: http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2014/06/the-pitchforks-are-coming-for-us-plutocrats-108014

Why did democrats let them in? Rather than make them go thru legal process? Hint- they want more Democrat voters to keep the Democrats in office and offer them more free stuff to do it. they will always vote themselves more free stuff rather than work.

FBI director said isis will infiltrate refugees.. obama tries to bring in more... total disregard for America. There was no isis under bush. Obama helped create isis .. he had no exit strategy. Before you rant on "bush's war"... congress voted it. To include the worse possible candidate. . HITLARY
1 up, 8y
I don't see hillary getting nominated from jail... Bernie is it for the dems.. I'm about certain of that. Of course the Clinton have been getting a pass on all sorts of things. . So this one with her server won't totally surprise me if she gets a pass.

Which leads to a LONG list of HUGE corporations that DON'T pay taxes:

yup, we pay corporate tax. It's built into the price of the products that we buy from corporations. Raise corporate tax and we pay a higher prices for the products we buy from those corporations .

That would be easier to do since we would all have more money in our pockets.
It's in the corporations/elite/1% to keep the lower classes (that includes the middle class) healthy to keep THEIR class healthy.

He's a billionaire that speaks the truth not BS like some billionaires looking to only make themselves and those like them richer. Say what you want but he's looking out for working people. Maybe you're a independently wealthy millionaire? I'm not. So I think a healthy middle class is the way to go. Unfortunately you can't keep doing things they way we have and rigging the system to make the rich richer while the rest of us lose.

AMEN! It's a cycle. Raise min wage for McDonalds workers,... that price gets passed onto the consumer. . you soon get $15 #6 meals! Nothing is free,... nothing pays for itself,... when anything goes up in cost do to taxes, labor,.. etc,.. the consumer pays. This is simple for to understand,... but not for the left. =)

That's simply not true. Prices may go up slightly but not a lot at all.
http://fortune.com/2015/07/30/15-per-hour-fast-food-prices/

Great example is Costco. Good wages, employees treated very well and low prices.

(Corporate) GREED makes things bad for the rest of us.

Actually you really don't hear them say either. The wealthy will still be the wealthy.
Just like when they were taxed at 90% in 1950's. We did great. The country and economy grew, good UNION jobs supported the workers while the "wealthy" still ate caviar and had yachts.

well may be to YOU, but they're not the same.
And Bernie isn't a "classic" socialist...
"Yes, the man is certainly on the left edge of mainstream American politics. He would like to raise taxes significantly on the wealthy, to spend more on infrastructure, to break up large Wall Street banks. He'd like to make public colleges tuition-free, but he isn't pushing to eliminate private universities. Fundamentally, the man isn't really running on an anti-capitalist platform of nationalizing private industry. The one exception, you could argue, would be his stance in favor of single-payer health care—that would amount to a government takeover of health insurance. But that would also basically bring the U.S. in league with decidedly capitalist nations such as Canada and Great Britain."
