wasn't there some fuss about paramedics getting similar wages to fast food staff?
the last two jobs i've worked, i've received the same hourly rate, give or take a few cents.
currently i stock shelves: push a trolley to an aisle, unpack boxes, return empty trolley + what won't fit, rinse and repeat.
previously i sampled and measured woodchips, operated/maintained/cleaned machinery (not power tools but lathes and grinders), i sharpened industrial knives, mechanically and chemically stripped chrome from hydraulic rods and resized the finished product to near perfect.
and for almost a third of the hourly rate of those last two jobs, i've also worked outdoors on landscaping and conservation projects, planting, weeding by hand and with chemicals, putting up rural fences, installing garden beds in local parks and creating a walking track.
does this seem balanced?
