OK, I'll probably catch hell from both those that know Star Wars and those that know Muppets, but it's an honest question...I consider Yoda to be a Muppet, is that true? If that is true, is Chewy a muppet too?

Or, maybe the only distinction on what makes a Muppet a Muppet is who created it? I think that Lucas' group make Chewy (he was an original from episode 4) and Henson made Yoda for Empire.

Good point. I didn't think of that. In the Muppet Show, one of them is really big and has a person inside it, too. I don't know where the distinction is. But I think of Chewie as an actor in a costume (like C3PO, or like some of the Mos Eisley characters). I don't think of him as a muppet.
