Yeah, and states like Nebraska and Oklahoma are a) suing Colorado saying that we're causing too much weed to be brought into their states and b) profiling drivers that come into their states with Colorado plates, pulling us over and searching, thinking that we're transporting it. Why would we smuggle it out of state? People from out of state are the ones buying it here and taking it home! We just sit here and get high!

I was absolutely sure there wasn't so much as a seed in the car before driving back. I know they love to stop out of staters leaving. I think those other states are jealous of all the money Colorado is making taxing it, so they are trying to get a piece of the pie because the people in their state won't vote for it..... yet.

Here's another weird dichotomy...the state will soak up all the tax money that they can get their hands on, which is fine. But the dispensary owners can't deposit their money in banks because of federal regulations!?!?

I dont know the banking laws down there but you would think one can start a private financial institution to deal with that. We hav a credit union here in manitoba that is one of the richest in Canada because they handle all the Hutterite banking and its against their religion to collect interest on their money and we're talking MILLIONS, so that particular institution grows n grows.

My friends a head grower in CO and we were discussing the bank issue. Although it wouldn't be FDIC insured a way to get around losses that need to be insured in the first place is to NOT loan money. The banks would be privately insured and perhaps they could invest funds in more stable funds like t-bills, bonds, munis, etc. The fact the dispenseries will have a place to deposit money and keep it safe would be a huge opportunity for a private bank.

Depends on where he lives, where I grew up everybody I know that wants one has a "medical" card and wearing that shirt wouldn't turn anybodies head. But where I live now, not the best idea.
