The other thing is, ultimately we don't control our points - it's in the hands of other people.
I mean you can be active on the site and make funny meme comments on front page memes all you want, and generally you will do well, but at the end of the day nobody is going to upvote things they don't want to upvote, so you can't force it.
So since we can't completely control it, a case could be made for not worrying about it so much. Don't get me wrong - I think points are great. I like getting upvotes and I like upvoting other people. But... points would probably not be ideal as the main focus. If a person is only doing things on imgflip for points, they might get very frustrated when they don't have the results they want, and not have as much fun as if they just stay active on the site, engage with other people via comments and memes, and let the points come more naturally. Which generally, if they're staying active and making those funny meme comments, they would. :)
