Yup I'm surprised at how many upvotes this got honestly, it's definitely one of my first 10 submissions ever. I didn't know much at all about memes back then lol.

Yeah, I was the same way with some of my first memes, except without the early success XD Man, was I naive back then. Back when Mememaker and Filip.batcha were around and when the big joke was that when Entertainer28 got to 1 million points the site would crash... and so many trolls and spammers... yep, those were the good old days.
I honestly think the only reason anyone noticed me in my first month was because I had a bad habit of jumping into argument that were none of my business.

You've got a lot of time on me around here, I've heard about the Entertainer28 joke but that's about it. I've only encountered a few trolls in my time around here. I can't imagine there being a bunch of them and spammers as well. This is the best community of people I've ever found online, I always feel very lucky to have picked this site when I decided I wanted to try and make some memes myself :)

This is a pretty nice community. I think we deserve the award for having the fewest ten year olds who all screwed your mom :) Anyway, the spammers and trolls were way worse when we didn't require email verification and when we could still downvote memes. There was even a Trollsmashers group that some of the leaderboard users founded.
Anyway, most of the trolls went away once the big porn spammer was found--and it turned out that it was Mememaker, one of the big leaderboard users. Once he went away, a lot of other leaderboarders left with him. And then Filip, that one annoying guy who was the cause of almost every flame war, kept telling everyone how we were all wrong and how he knew it all along. Aaaaand then he was never seen again. :/

Wow I appreciate the history lesson honestly, I've never heard about this stuff before. Guess I'm lucky to have joined when I did! I've always wondered what it was like when the site started. I've seen a couple people complain it's not like it used to be but since nobody has ever told me how it used to be I couldn't really tell what they meant by that. Some things definitely make more sense now thank you :)

Though honestly, I don't know that much about the site myself--some users have been on here for a lot longer than I have, and back when the porn spamming was at its worst, I kept hearing bits and pieces about somebody who was apparently an even bigger porn spammer who disappeared right before I arrived--icecube, or something like that. But yeah, that's pretty much the extent of my knowledge. Happy I could help :)

That happened to some that got deleted during the hack, but I know this was at least a month before that, since it took me a month to make the front page the first time and they deleted 3 of mine off the front page that day...
