You actually get one point, and the OP gets points depending on whether it was a downvote or an upvote, but that's such a small difference that doesn't matter.

I don't think you get points for voting after you have more than 1000, but I could be wrong.

Actually, I have an alternate account that I managed to get above 1000 points by spamming the upvote and downvote keys, but it certainly is taking way longer than it should when compared to how fast I was progressing to 1000.
