You'll get no argument from me here. Even as a Christina I'm the first person to admit. The American Christian Church as a whole is currently a disaster. That's why I'm not in Church right now. I can't find a decent one to attend, even in the small city are I live in.
This is also why America is experiencing moral decline as never before, because if the Church was doing it's job we would't be experience such moral decline. However, although they are few, there are Churches and ministries out there that do wonderful Christian work to help people, but you never hear about them because liberal media sources only report the bad things Churches are doing, not the good.
I don't think Churches should gouge people or harass them for donations, but they do have to ask for them or the Church couldn't operate. Just like you the Church has to pay the bills to heat and light the Church, and just like you the pastor, his wife, and kids ( if has them ) have to eat and need at least some modest entertainment. They might be pastors, but they're still human.
I don't think they should live in 10 million dollar mansions like Joel Olsteen, but then, neither do most serious Christian approve of pastors who live large like this off their donations. Plus, most small country Church live on a shoe string budget barely getting by.
