For once, people are taking suicide seriously on this site.

Im glad they are, it's more common than a lot of people think. In my field I see approximately 5-7 a month. There just isn't enough awareness. I've spoken out at a few high schools about it. If you have an issue that makes you have those thoughts, talk to someone you trust or look up to. Nothing is worth taking you own life. It may take time or some kind of effort but seek out someone to talk to.

I empathize as well as sympathize with you. My teenage cousin did that. Destroyed the parents as well as the rest of our family. At the time nor 6 years after we have no clarity because there was no indication at all that she was remotely disturbed about anything at all.

To have to go to a loved ones home and deliver the news that they died by their own hand, u got to bite the tongue so I won't collapse with them. I generally request to be the one to go because I'll never forget that call. I was told there had been an accident so I raced to my parents home, and the shock that she took her own life, wow. She was over at my house 3 weeks before-I highlighted her hair- she was so happy! Idk, idk why or what happened. She was like my sister.

It's so sad that people these days feel the need to take their own life because somehow they can't cope. I feel your pain in losing someone special to you, but never by their own hand. but making someone happy in their time of need can really mean something to someone, and, your lucky that you at least got to know her for a bit, I lost my pride and joy when she was 3 years of age.

Oh my heart aches for you!!!! A sweet precious child, I'm so very sorry!!! I've lost so much love, but I cannot let it overshadow the love I still have!!! I miscarried at 4 months, then my cousin, then my husband when my 6 year old was 3 months old( military), my mom 3 months ago ( she was terminal, I took FMLA to care for her for 3 months) and my grandfather one and a half months ago. Whew, I must laugh and rejoice for my son I have here with me. I've been very depressed before but my 6 year old was given to me as a motivating, beam of sunshine and whomever you are close to cherish them and always let them know:) you are in my thoughts!!!

I've lost a lot yes, but while I had them I loved and got love in return:) and I have pictures here and there in my house and reminisce about them with my little boy. To the point he feels as though he got to meet them, and I do it also to keep their places in my heart "alive"! :)

That's the real tragedy in suicide, I imagine most don't show obvious signs of the stress or give any indication that they're have those kinds of thoughts. I had a Uncle that did that right about the time I was born, my mom told me later that he never showed any signs. He came back from Nam just 2 years earlier, so we're talking 1974 time period.
