It's Nitrogen, to keep the chips fresh, air has oxygen and other stuff that make your chips yucky. Yes, "yucky" is a technical term. Lol great meme, got my vote! :)

But they should put a little less "nitrogen" in the bag so we have more chips though. Just my opinion, not judging.

Yea, they should, but as much fun were having poking fun at it, I'm betting they put that much in not only to keep it fresh, but I believe also for shipping, they don't get crushed. I gotcha, I never thought you were judging! You know, just thinking about it, they must go through a crapload of nitrogen, huh? Lol

That makes sense! Shipping things in large quantities can smash things. But yeah, they go through a LOT of nitrogen.

Yea, I bet!! They probably have a nitrogen concentrator, since we breath 70% nitrogen anyway. It would be too expensive to use bottled nitrogen. I think I saw something on "How it's Made" about why they inflate the bag so much for shipping. You know you can push down of a little bag of chips and put a decent amount of weight before it pops!

I can buy 125 cubic feet of compressed nitrogen for about $18 @ the welding supply store. Or oxygen, or carbon dioxide or argon. I use various gasses for different welding processes, techniques and types of metals. They might get it from a supplier in such large quantities that the same 125 c.f. I pay $18 for, only cost then $5. I know the place I buy the gas and my welding supplies at here in Denver also supplies to the medical, industrial and restaurants.

Yea, I have a Miller mig welder,myself. So.many welding suppliers have been eaten by others I forget who's left. I think I use "AirGas", I used to use Holox, but they got eaten! Lol. ;)

I love doing that when I pop the bags, I remember when I was 5 and I had no idea how to open the chips bag so i popped it in the lunchroom and everyone looked at me and said "ooooooooooooh" My face was just a huge pokerface.

Ha ha!! Yea I know what you mean! I used to do that too!! Lol
