There is more scientific evidence to support that God exists than not, and philosophically it's much easier to prove the existence of something than it is to disprove it. The very fact that all life is an absolute miracle is proof enough for me. The Big Bang Theory in a nutshell is that if I took all the components to make a watch and threw them on the ground they would come together in a perfect way to create a whole unit. It would take precision to make the watch come together AND function properly. The universe is simply far too complex to have happened by coincidence. It would take billions of absolute miracles for it to happen. I'm sorry to prattle on. I meant to point to other evidence, but got stuck on this one. If you're interested in more just shoot me a message and I'll explain further.

Nice deflection of rational logic. But seriously, the burden of proof is on you to disprove anything just as it was on me to prove it. That's how this works if you want to debate the issue, playa.

Actually, that one is on me. I've been up since 3am and mostly at work. What I
am failing at saying is...if you support the Big Bang Theory it is up to you to prove that it happened. I'm not asking for you to disprove the existence of God. You were correct in that explanation of burden of proof.

I do see where the hang up was...I said "the burden of proof is on you to disprove anything just as it was on me to prove it." What I meant to say was the burden of proof is on you to prove anything, etc. Eh...sorry.

I must commend you as well. Most people would have seen my apology as weakness, and taken the opportunity to gloat. I'm also impressed that you didn't try to pass yourself off as an expert on the subject. If i could give you more upvotes for this, I would. Too many people on sites like this one already doing that simply because they read about it on Wiki. I do enjoy hearing counter-arguments to any of my own beliefs and ideas. So with that in mind, if you have any links on BBT I would appreciate it. I would ask that you post them to my profile...if there's a way. I'm new to this site and don't know if that's possible. Also, I don't know the accepted norms of this site. With that in mind, I don't know if having conversations with other people on someone else's comment page is disrespectful.

I suggest you look up who Georges Lemaitre was.

Or my personal favorite, there was an explosion in a brick factory and it created a house.

i like what you did here, but this doesn't prove that god or a god exists... for all we know it could just a be an intelligent race using nuclear implosions to create galaxies... possible...

So if the world ever goes into world war 3, it will create a new galaxy? 0_o

nuclear implosion, not explosion lol! we don't yet have the technology to create an implosive big enough to create solar systems... yet

meh, you'd think if it was some intelligent race somone would have screwed up at some point and left some form of evidence of themselves around. So either they are uber perfect, the government is covering it up, or they don't exist.

of course, and even if they did leave proof so to speak... what would it look like? how would we, an "un-advanced" civilization know?
1 up, 9y
its true, we wouldn't, unless it was obviously some form of technology.

Like someone else said, Theism (belief in God) is far more logical than Atheism. The idea that universe came from nothing for no reason is quite unscientific. The complexity and laws of the universe are best explained by an Intelligent Designer and don't fit well in a naturalistic paradigm of calling it all "coincidence". Just like the complexity of different buildings clearly prove the existence of the builder that created them. Consider the implications of each worldview as well. In Christianity, God gives life purpose and meaning. In Atheism, life is here by coincidence and has no meaning except for what people make up and cling to as a false hope before death. In Christianity, humans have special value being made in the image of God. In Atheism, humans are just a coincidentally-evolved creature, a form of animal life that is not more special than the apes they came from. You desperately want to believe in God because He is drawing you to Him. Choose to believe. It's more logical anyways and give life true meaning and purpose, assuming you will be willing to find a relationship with God through Christ.

Holy sh*t that's a lot of writing, pun created.

When one's "non"belief must be defined BY the very belief they are not espousing ... that says a lot.
1 up, 9y
The sad thing is people would rather believe that X happened at Y when A was D and H was happening to K to create F than that God exists.

If you think it's stupid try something that you may find intelligent. Like the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Or perhaps nothing at all, Agnostic is fine.
1 up, 9y
agnostic isn't nothing at all... it means that their isn't enough proof to make a decision on the matter. it doesn't mean we don't believe in anything, we just don't know what to believe in... indecisive asses we must be lol
