yeah but the people that actually founded the country didn't....so.....why does this make you feel better?

“The Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion.”
~1797 Treaty of Tripoli signed by Founding Father John Adams

“We have abundant reason to rejoice that in this Land the light of truth and reason has triumphed over the power of bigotry and superstition… In this enlightened Age and in this Land of equal liberty it is our boast, that a man’s religious tenets will not forfeit the protection of the Laws, nor deprive him of the right of attaining and holding the highest Offices that are known in the United States.”
~Founding Father George Washington, letter to the members of the New Church in Baltimore, January 27, 1793

“In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own. It is error alone that needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself.”
~Founding Father Thomas Jefferson, in a letter to Horatio Spofford, 1814

Let's assume those quotes are accurate. I am willing to bet that to be the case back in those days. It is true that many governments were run by the church and the founding fathers wanted to escape that. However... The founding fathers still held their own religious beliefs firmly. The bottom line here is, one can practice the religion of their choice without being persecuted for it. What is happening today is persecution of the Christian faith, and a massive genocide of Christian peoples in desolate, unstable countries.

So I guess a church or churches should defend their christian brothers and sisters. Not a government.

The constitution defends their right to practice their religion, yes, even if it is at a town hall meeting or in a public school. The government doesn't need to do anything.

You mentioned other countries. The constitution only protects Americans in america. Christians in other countries should get help from american christians not necessarily from the American government.

I agree with you on that point. And Christians around the world are providing some relief to those suffering in other countries. Heck, Christians are giving much needed relief to people of all faiths around the world. My church had a money drive for the children of Nigeria just a few months back. I'm glad we have found common ground, brother.

Really? Those same guys who were out doing the dying were the ones who sat in office and made these calls? I did not know that.

Clearly you can't differentiate from "political correctness" and "The Constitution".
