Yeah, there's a natural cycle of warming and cooling that happens every 500-1000 years or so. All humans are doing is exaggerating the effect somewhat. For instance, this cycle is already one of the warmest ones ever, and is happening slightly faster than expected. It's not really a danger though, unless we let it go waaay too far...
Although, the way I see it, there's no downside to being more environmentally conscious :D
