I respect your opinion, but I believe you are misinformed. You don't have to like it, just. Respect the rappers that put time and effort into their music. All us hip hop fans hate these mainstream rappers that give rap a bad name.

Well, hip hop is good music if you look at the underground/Alternative artists. Although they do not sing, it requires a lot of talent to write the rhymes with actual meaning, make them flow in a way that fits with the beat, and put in similes and metaphors to enhance the quality of the verse. The mainstream crap on the radio does suck, though. Listen to more of the music before you put it in a box.

Old school rap was often very positive and encouraged young people to listen to their moms, stay off drugs, stay out of jail, etc. I agree with you on the underground hip hop as well. So much of the mainstream cRAP is just grunting and spewing nonsense to a heavy beat.

Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff come to mind, as does De La Soul, and quite a few others actually from old school days. Good point.

Eric B and Rakim was one of my favorite rap duos. I still get blown away by some of the lines Eric B put down.

I fully agree with you, the mainstream music, that is promoted by the media and listened by the teenagers is crap and trash. But there are some rappers, who make very conscious and intelligent music and have the talent for it. I described some of them in my comment on this image ;D

It's a universally accepted truth that all music sucks except what I like. And that's as true for you as it is for me.

k.... what kinda music is your music? *please say metal* *please say metal*... Hey if you say its the better music, I really hope you say metal, although that is kinda an elitist view and contradicts metalhead moral. Thats what I beleive anyway.

This is to the people who say that they dont like rap music: I assume that what you dont like is probably Mainstream Rap and all these lazy talk rappers that dont put efforts in pronouncing the words right and talk about money, fame, how big they are, and things of that nature. So I advice you to not be so prejudiced about the whole genre, because there are really some artists and groups that put efforts in their music, dont sound stupid and create intelligent and meaningful music, like for example the sub-genre conscious rap. I would give you some names, that i listen to, and think they make good music, which is meaningful, has a nice sound, and is not vain. I hope i can make you see the other side of rap. So these are the names you should check:
Bone Thugs N Harmony (amazing group, they not only rap, but rap fast and harmonize and sing very well and beautifully, and they have strong messages in their songs, and the members have solo careers and solo albums too ), Immortal Technique - he has socio-politically orientated lyrics and has very big knowledge, Krizz Kaliko, Tech N9ne - very big lyricists, they have some very deep topics and songs, K-rino- he is very concsious and has anti governmental lyrics and exposes some mass deceptions in his songs, Havik - also very amazing group, similar to Bone Thugs N Harmony, 2pac - i dont like all of his music, but some of his songs are very deep and very descriptive and meaningful, King Sandman - he is underground, not many people know him, but he has some tight lyrics and some of his songs are deep too, Arsonal Da Rebel, he is a battle rapper, but has some really good songs too, and is very creative. There are also other rappers that make good music, but i probably cant remember them now... ;D

I saw Atmosphere open for Slightly Stupid a couple summers ago. They sounded amazing. Good clear lyrics and beats with great enthusiasm. It was obvious that their crew took a lot of pride in delivering a killer show.

I just hate it. There is absolutely no effort put into it, and its just an atrocious sound. Don't tell me that I'm just listening to the wrong people, It's seriously just crap 'music'.

The only music I like is usually chip tune and other computer generated songs.

Can we all just agree that mainstream music sucks in general? Rap only sucks now bcause of how mainstream it is and in my opinion, its pop music's crowd that destroyed rap and hip hop. Im a metalhead 100% but I still think REAL rap as its value.
