Did you have a show that inspired this?

A current show? Not really. But there have been loads of them in the past that make me weary of season ending cliffhangers. John Doe, Surface, ALF, Mork and Mindy...there are lots of them.

A few years ago, I was hooked on this show, Touch, that involved 36 people who had this "gift" and were meant to keep balance in the universe, and were being hunted down by some crazy guy who thought God told him to kill the 36, and the main characters are a guy and his son, the latter of which is one of the 36.
It was weird.

Anyway, it ended in the dad, the son and another 36 person (a girl the son's age) driving their car, when another car crashes into them, and these guys steps out of the stereotypical black SUV and grab the kids, leaving the dad knocked out cold.

AND IT NEVER CAME BACK! I was in agony for months waiting for it to come back on, but what do you know, it never did.
