Not going to get deeply involved, but the theory of the big bang is that when it blew the universe continually expanded, and is continually expanding to this day, leave behind it steadily condensing material that forms into galaxies and other things; now, if this is true, the galaxies are gradually moving away from this center of the big bang because of centrifugal forces when they were dropped from the expanding matter. Therefore, the center of the universe is indeed in the center of the universe.

I'm not saying "the Earth is the center of the Universe." This is strictly a science vs. science flamewar. I'm not bringing religion into it at all. And, Oh yeah, I get a little ticked off when someone says the earth is not the center of the Universe when they can't prove that as a certainty.

I never said anything about religion. I never said Earth wasn't the center of the universe, or that anything was. I stated what the theory suggests.

I know. I just didnt want people to think there was yet another religion vs science flame war going on here.

um, yes as a matter of fact we identified the general area where the 'center' was located or more accurately the source of the big bang theory

The center of the Universe (or the location of the Big Bang) has never been determined. One could say, that since everything came from the singularity of the Big Bang (including empty space itself) that everywhere is the center. On the other hand, if the Universe is infinite then there can be no center. My point is that, when people claim that Earth is not the center of the Universe they have no scientific proof to back that up. It's their opinion.

not proof? well for one thing we orbit around a sun. secondly that sun and its solar system orbits around our galaxy the Milky Way. and if you would do some research you would find that all the galaxies are moving away from each other. and that scientists have found a common spot in our universe where all of our galaxies are moving 'from' relatively while spreading out.

So, is the Sun closer to the center of the Universe? Is the center of the Milky Way, closer to the center of the Universe? That has nothing to do with it! Show me a link where a credible Physicist or Astronomer has located the center of the Universe. Because I can't show you a link to something that doesn't exist.
