Mental illness indeed. She didn't like what she saw in the mirror so she needed to hide it? People cover what they don't want to see, artfully or ⬆️not. "Imperfection" is the norm. Perfection is the lie. Some natural imperfections are unwanted. Some scars are unwanted. Differences make us vulnerable. Make us stand out. This woman is crying out, whether she means to, or not. Whether she wants to or not. She doesn't need more marks on her face. She doesn't need to disfigure herself. Her brokenness is internal, but it has migrated.
