The scariest yet!

I topped up my car and was paying £1.85 per litre
That converts to 3.785 Litres to 1 US Gallon
So that would be £7 with the exchange rate at 1.33
that would be the equivalent of $9.31 per gallon
Now that's scary !

Wow, I guess I can't complain. The last time I filled up it was $4.19 a gallon. A day later it dropped to $3.99. Today it's $3.83.

Here in the UK, The governent put on a lot of tax 😠

Oil is a commodity. Its price is decided by what traders wish to pay per barrel on the markets.

The profiteers don't care that prices are going up because it's more money in their pocket. So they don't mind us attacking Iran and screwing everybody else also in the process.

In the US, oil is heavily subsidized, to the level that we pay about half per gallon of gas than the rest of the world does. The excuse is to allow the oil industry more money to build infrastructure when it was new, but it's been over a century since it was new.

Well I said we, but I don't even drive.

Still, it's unfair that we pay less. It's still tax dollars going into it, and by selling it for cheaper, that's less incentive to be frugal about using it.

Whenever prices start getting noticeably higher for a sustained amount of time, everybody starts getting interested in energy efficiency and alternative fuels and all that. By keeping prices low, most folks don't care.

The thing is, even though you don't drive, everything you buy in a shop or supermarket is tranported by road. They have to buy fuel at the increased rate and that cost will be passed onto the consumer
