In January 2025, Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA) defended the White House federal aid freeze and was asked about school lunch funding.

He said on CNN: “You’re telling me that kids who stay at home instead of going to work at Burger King, McDonald’s during the summer should stay at home and get their free lunch instead of going to work?”

He also said: “Before I was even 13 years old, I was picking berries in the field... I was a paperboy, and when I was in high school, I worked my entire way through.”

What does a summer job have to do with lunches during the school year?

They were talking about extending school lunch through the summer when kids were out of school. You missed that? Like I said, do a little research before you post something.

During school hours today: school cafeterias are open and serving. Low-income kids still qualify for free meals. What was being debated was whether every kid in a high-poverty school should automatically get it without an application, or only the individually qualified kids.

I have to research lots of stuff because conservatives are always saying stuff that isn't true so I have to find out what is actually true to correct them

Good. Conservatives do post misinformation, but you should police yourself as well. Don't just repost anything you find on the internet without researching it. That's lazy.

That's why you've never answered a question when asked to "name 3" any of the multiple times you have stated "there's many examples..." ?
Sorry. But when your research is watching a guy who has had everything he ever said debunked that's not research. That's wishful thinking.
