Kirby is not the first or only business titan to call for bigger taxes on the wealthiest Americans. Luminaries like Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and George Soros have long advocated for increasing the tax burden at their rarefied wealth levels.

Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce (CRM), wrote in 2019 that "increasing taxes on high-income individuals like myself would help generate the trillions of dollars that we desperately need to improve education and healthcare and fight climate change."

All talk and no action. If they truly meant it, they should just give the money freely. But do they? Hell no. If you don’t practice what you preach, then shut your hypocritical mouth. Are they saying it just to look good in public?

Wealth taxes are a stupid idea, especially when you consider assets and wealth are not the same things. The super rich are not going to sell anything to pay taxes, it's not how they build wealth. Nor will they leave a billion in cash to do so. Instead, they approach Governors offer to build something that will bring in jobs, the Governors offer zero or super low taxes and then turn around and claim the super rich should pay up. It's all a show for the media, who gladly plays along.
