It's hard to disprove books like 1984 and Atlas Shrugged and what they can imply because the authors only had to listen and see to what was going on around them. Heck, Ayn Rand practically lived it for awhile under Soviet communism.
Handmaiden's Tale on the other hand is just pure hate toward God and men without trying to understand either. In the Bible, God was the only one who truly cared about women even in the harshest times of times. Prime examples are Rahab, Leah, Tamar, and Ruth.
And when God became Flesh and Blood and took the name Jesus Christ, some of the very first people He reached out to help and save were prostitutes.
And if anyone in US government ever tired to do in real life what Tale does to women, you can bet there will be a whole bunch of husbands, brothers, cousins, uncles, and male friends out in force to pout a hard to stop to it.
