Our government has allowed rolling go boom tank cars the freedom to be transported through America, then pumped onto boats and either sunk into the ocean or God knows what. I find it interesting that this stuff is basically being stored as a moving warehouse. And the companies making the industrial chemicals needed to make other dirty industrial products, still can make whatever amount they see profitable. That's a lack of regulation. In the area I have lived we had a chemical company distribute a chemical via simi, the simis would drive directly through town at night. After waking up at 230 am to the sound of 70 engine breaking trucks, I had enough and called and asked the local police department to get involved because engine breaking is against the law, they must have been paid off to allow it. I wasn't going to stop. I brought up the liquid weight and bridge restrictions for crossing the bridge in town. That actually put a stop to the traffic, because the weight of all the simis crossing the bridge over and over again was a valid issue for the city. Unless someone can get a valid issue reported to the proper channels nothing is going to change. It is scary and real the residual stink and chemical smells trains can bring into and through a town. Cars and simis also don't respect railroad crossings, and not all crossings have lighted warnings. Which is crazy because we live in the modern era. Untill the EPA can do air studies within a mile radius of a railroad , we won't know the true exposure on humans.
