If this is what's it come to, that so many people have so much admiration for murderers, we may need to change the United States Constitution. Specifically, remove the words "Excessive bail shall not be required" from the Eighth Amendment. As it stands now, if terrrorists blow up all the AI data centers in existence and kill thousands of people, they'll defend their actions by saying they had to because AI was going to kill us all. Lots of people will believe that argument, and they will easily raise enough money to bail the terrorists out. The highest bail ever set was $4,000,000,000. That bail could be paid if everyone in the United States of America contributed $14 per person.
In this day and age, judges should be empowered to set bails in the trillions or even the quadrillions, whatever is necessary to keep mass murderers behind bars where they belong.
