What does slavery around the world, since about 610 AD, have in common. This includes slavery that used to be practiced in North, Central and South America.
Islam. It was Muslims who started enslaving everyone but made a business out of enslaving Africans.
Any one else who practiced slavery either bought from or got the idea from Islam.
Everyone else stopped practicing slavery EXCEPT for Islam. Well them and a few really evil people who kidnap children for sex slavery. But they are not a nation, religion or society. Those really evil people are just a criminal syndicate.
However, in Islam slavery is just a part of the religion. Because the unbeliever are not acceptable as people to Allah. Therefore Muslims can do whatever they want to unbelievers. It is not a sin or a crime in Islam to murder, rape, torture, steal, lie to or anything else to any unbeliever regardless of the person's gender or age.
Some Muslims use rape as a form of conversion. The rape the unbeliever woman or girl. Then she becomes a Muslim. Then they stone her to death because she was raped. Because getting raped, unbeliever or Muslim, is punishable by death under Sharia law. It is the woman's fault for causing the Muslim man to want to rape them.
