About 2010 or so, a bunch of us on another message board created The Loon Party. It was an attempt to parody/satire these type of conspiracy theories.

Back then there wasn't enough major conspiracy theories like 9/11 to work with. Also none of us really knew how to make it bigger than what we did in the message board.
