The Case for Socialism

Wouldn't that be the opposite of socialism?

Socialism will empower the government more, but that doesn't mean they're going to give the people all the money they confiscate. Historically, they always keep it for themselves. So, a small group of people doesn't just have all the money, they have all the power, too.

The solution is classical economics, aka georgism.

And being exactly what capitalism is.

Capitalism pretends to be free enterprise, but it's actually neo-feudalism. The property ladder is created by a tax system that falls on wealth creation instead of land ownership. The classical economists (the original "laissez faire" economists) said landlords, not laborers, should pay for the government.

But neither political party wants to address the land issue because they're both funded by landlords and investors who want to keep labor cheap and voters confused. That's also why neither political party advocates for basic economics to be taught in public school.
