They are busy fanning out across the nation to keep their backwards directed vision moving. Moving a country, this size, moving upwards, in a positive direction, takes a lot more effort than removing societal safeguards (God, family) and allowing it to speed downhill to the inevitable crash at the bottom. Plus they don't actually want to live in the world they are pushing for. They want the comforts and technology available only in a country built on freedom and building and creating are rewarded.
