I feel like in the year of our lord 2026 nobody should even call themselves woke anymore if they're actually serious because people are just going to think of radical leftism and the stupid shit that a lot of those people think

Also like objectively just being slightly progressive does not instantly make you "woke" (this reminds me of some right wing people not caring about labels anymore and being fine with called a racist despite the fact a lot of or all what they think doesn't have to do with race at all)

I've seen it used by people in some online spaces i'm in to refer to themselves in a serious way

or it's like they'll say something like "maybe I'm too woke but i dont like x" or smth and the thing is just something that 99% of people dislike and has nothing to do with politics (for example pedos or smth)
