Republicans While imperfect for sure, but they have generally leaned toward decentralization, freer markets, and local control. They have also recognized that when taxation becomes excessive, it functions as a form of incremental slavery — taking the fruits of a person’s labor to fund causes or policies that person may deeply oppose.
Democrats, on the other hand, have historically favored expanding the tax base and increasing rates to fund an ever-larger federal footprint. While framed as “helping the needy,” the result often consolidates power in Washington at the expense of individual freedom and community-based solutions. Changing the color of the drapes doesn’t mean you’ve moved out of the same big-government house.
