How indeed ..a giant sprawling mega city with buildings emptying, in a border state with significant international modes of ingress. How many immigrants of a particular ideology could hide themselves there. As the city becomes increasingly more hostile to the wealthy, to the poor, the disaffected and more are forced out due to rising crime, taxes, and inability to feed themselves and the city empties further. It plays like what's taking place in places like the UK.

NYC is the safest big city in America, and even safer than London where quite literally a spoon is classified by law as an illegal weapon, and the natives of the land that invented neo-Nazi Skinheads and the National Front just stand there in the street watching while immigrants hack their soldiers to death with machetes and do unspeakable things to their daughters while constables look the other way because it would be impolite for them to do their jobs and parents do not want to impose by calling them to report the rapes of their own daughters.

NYC is hardly hostile to the poor and disaffected, which is why other states send theirs to here by bus.
