Show us where the constitution does not allow it.

Teaching Christianity in schools does none of that.

You don't need to convert to a religion to be taught about it.

I learned about Greek mythology in school. Am I a Greek pagan now?

Western law as a whole was founded on the ten commandments.

What is the problem you're seeing here?

Quite the contrary. America is moving away from Christian principals and we are worse off because of it.
For example, mass shootings aren’t because of guns, they are because the shooters don’t believe in life after death, the sanctity of life, and that we will be held accountable for how we treat others.
4 ups, 1mo
Why? How would a country full of atheists benefit anyone?
4 ups, 1mo
You don't know what your asking for. Ignoring accountability to a higher power has historically led to evil. Oh look at me, I'm an atheist, I don't like the way you talked to me, so by my standard, I'm just going to kill you. Like Charlie Kirk. I don't like what you're saying, so you don't have freedom of speech or belief or association, I'm going to kill you before you kill me and I'll take all your stuff. I don't like you doing what a majority elected you to do, I'm gong to assassinate you. I'm not waiting for an election. Atheism is not good.
0 ups, 1mo
Guess what. You are free to be as atheist as you want. Always have been free to believe whatever your mind desires. And then guess what that means. Everyone else is free to believe the truth. Get over your poor persected little self. Stop thinking everyone has to bow down to you. Whiners are never happy, and they feel entitled to make everyone else equally miserable. So you want to be an atheist, just do it and shut up.

Humm, I guess we better not teach children to be honest, respect their parents, not steal, not murder, etc … since those teachings are all part of the 10 commandments. 🙄

True, but that is also in atheism. Also, you forgot, the 10 commandments forces you to worship god. That is what I don't want.

No text “forces” you to do anything. Does the constitution force you to vote? Do Spanish language textbooks force you to speak Spanish?
4 ups, 1mo
Learning Spanish doesn’t mean you are forced to speak it. It means you have the intelligence and ability to do so if you choose.
Same with learning about Christianity. It’s not like students are required to be baptized a member of a Christian sect in order to get their diploma. Not even colleges that are owned and operated by Christian churches do that.

You can get your wish. And when you die you will be eternally separated from the Creator you despise. That's what hell is, it's not Satan poking you with a pitchfork.

I don't despise Jesus. I just don't like how Christianity is forced in schools. And the only "Creator" I know is Science.
1 up, 1mo
What school is forcing Christianity? Name them please.
AH, evolution, real science. So according to science, in the beginning there was nothing, then it exploded. Out of nothing came a spark or something. Then the explosion of nothing coalesced into matter which coagulated into nebula and galaxies and solar systems and planets. After billions and billions of years there was a primordial ooze on earth and some miracle made RNA and DNA come together out of nothing to conjoin with cytoplasm to become protoplasm enclosed by the plasma membrane of cell with karyoplasma forming eukaryotic cells and cellular DNA in prokaryotic cells.
Somehow all these precise components, cytosol, organelles, vesicles, and the cytoskeleton ascended out of chaos into a sophisticated living organism. Then over billions and billions of years of additional accidents this single cell became a more complex system that crawled out of the primordial ooze to become sage brush, Giant redwood trees and apes. So what evolved first? The circulatory system or the digestive system? Pulmonary or or cardio vascular? How did the skeletal system evolve? Was it after the muscular system, or before? And reproduction, how did sexual reproduction evolve from asexual cells. Yes tell me all about this science.
The Veil Nebula is 100 light years across. If you could travel the speed of light you would circle the earth 7 times a second. And it's only 2,400 light-years away.

Teaching about Christianity is not forcing religion on anyone. In fact it is a disservice to not include Christianity, along with other religions, in school because you would be withholding information from your students. You can learn about a religion without joining it.

SO you like the ability to murder, steal and lie whenever you want, no restraints because those things are just the 10 commandments? They are the moral foundation for every well functioning government. Read what happened to the murder capital of the world in El Salvador in just a few short years.
0 ups, 1mo
When did I say that? I'll keep saying this: you can be a good person without being a christian.

That’s like saying forcing students to learn times tables is forcing them to be come mathematicians.
Your argument fails at every level. Teaching about a religion is not against the constitution and it isn’t forcing anything on students. They have the choice to believe it or not, just like they have the choice to believe there are more than two genders or not.

No! Math and religion are different. America relies on a universal math system to get things done, from finance to technology. But America does not need a universal religion in order to function. There is a reason why we all have different beliefs.

My concern is this is how America will become Christian extremist. While we keep yapping about Islamic extremism, teaching the ten commandments will break the 1st amendment and slowly force a religion onto the next generation. Then America will become Christian extremist.
3 ups, 1mo
We rely on the basic principles in the 10 commandments too. Most of them are shared by non-Christian religions as well as atheists.

Our country has moved further and further away from what you might call Christian extremism and we are not a better off because of it.

Dude, you know that the structure of our government is based on Christian church governing structures, right? The House of Representatives is based on Presbyterian governance, presbuteros being Greek for the people, the Senate is based on Episcopal which translates relating to a bishop having government by bishops. The Judicial is based on Judeo Christian judges, courts and procedures. And the Executive branch is again rooted in Church governance. The US Constitution restricts what the government can do to the freedom and natural rights of the individual. Obama called that negative rights, because his view is the the government has the rights and determines what rights the individual is allowed. Separation of church and state means that the state can't control religion like the King did the Church of England. Judeo Christian principles are the very structure of our freedoms and government. As Adams said, it is only designed for a moral people. Destroy moral value and you destroy our government, like for example holding the moral view that an unborn child is not human. You never know, could be a puppy or a bag of potatoes, guess we'll just have to wait and see what we get, or just kill it before it can grow.

Unfortunately for your narrow minded view it is the favorable way. Don't judge it by the people who manipulate it for their own gain, or distort what it really is. You don't understand what you are condemning. You are condemning what perverse mean do with it, that is not Christianity. We are to forgive each other, feed the poor, clothe the destitute, care for the stranger among us, love others as we love ourselves. Think more highly of others than ourselves. Christ's teachings are good, anything that people teach that are contrary to Christ's teachings are what you are focused on. In Matthew 7 Jesus deals with those people, the hypocrites that annoy you, I'll loosely paraphrase, "but Jesus we did this and that and we had bake sales in your name. And Jesus says, "Depart from Me I never knew you." Don't have any use for hypocrites? You're in good company, the scriptures show us God and Jesus don't have any use for them either.

Separation of Church and State is in a letter Thomas Jefferson wrote to a church, it is nowhere in the Constitution or any founding document. Read the Declaration of Independence and tell me God has no place in the creation or maintenance of this nation. Your teachers have lied to you because they were lied to and didn't check to see if it was the truth. Don't be as foolish as your teachers.

No he was not. Obama's father was raised Muslim, but he did not commit to Islam, and was still atheist by the time he met Obama's would be Christian mother.

So Obama himself is not a Muslim

So you're saying that trying to get healthcare for the public that the entire rest of the Western world uses is a sign of communism?

Germany has good healthcare. South Korea and Japan too. Are they communist? No dummy, they run on a Capitalist system.
3 ups, 1mo,

Don't call anyone a dummy, you destroy your credibility. We have had healthcare for centuries. Government control of healthcare is not healthcare, it's power, control and corruption. In my lifetime my healthcare decisions were made between me and my physician. Just this month my doctor prescribed a medication for me and the government said I don't need it. That is what you are advocating when you say we need government controlled "healthcare." I hope you didn't follow government controlled healthcare and get the Covid "vaccine." Your generation is dying of turbo cancers faster than 70-90 year olds are dying of cancers. It the mRNA- modified RNA, the clot shot makes people into GMOs, genetically modified organisms. That's science.

I can relate. My doc prescribed a $250 a month prescription that keeps me from pneumonia and $25,000 hospital bills. Medicare denied the prescription.

2 ups, 1mo,

Nope, sadly, there isn't. All have proven to be ineffective over the years. Asthma, when you can't breathe hospitals charge a fortune. Prevention would save Medicare thousands, but some bureaucrats thousands of miles away with no medical training call the shots. I've down this road a dozen times now.

And also know, there is no such thing as turbo cancer. Older millenials are more likely to die than younger people. What you gave me is tabloid shit, not science. No wonder people got mad at you.

You'll find out about it. See if you can find actuarial tables from the life insurance companies. They're crapping their pants over the rapid increase in mortality among younger age groups, and finding that the people causing the increase all too the vaxx. Remember all the vaxxed athletes dying of heart attacks a couple years ago?
0 ups, 1mo,

What does vaxx mean? Is it new MAGA gibberish? No. You do your research. Older people have higher mortality rates than younger people.
1 up, 1mo
He means vacination, shot, the jab. We MAGA occasionally stop dragging our knuckles and drooling and do real research. You are in for a very rude awakening. Young people who got the shot are dying at unprecedented rates.
1 up, 1mo
And also, you did not answer my question. You can't answer whether or not Japan, Korea, and Germany are communist for providing universal healthcare, when its clear that they are capitalist and not noticeably corrupt.
1 up, 1mo,

But don't you care about the lower income people like farmers who cannot get good healthcare?

Universal healthcare can get that to them. Also, the quality of welfare in the rest of the western world is so much better. We should invest more in that.

I grew up on a farm. I care. Universal healthcare makes you a number, not a patient, go to Canada for cancer treatment, you'll see what I mean.

Do even know about how much better the rest of the western world is than the US because of universal healthcare.
2 ups, 1mo
You obviously have never tried to get major healthcare in one of the universal healthcare systems you talk so highly of.

Canadians, who can afford to, come to the US for major treatment because it takes so long to get it done in CA. Many people die waiting for treatment. Unemployed people don’t mind so much because they can spend all day sitting in a doctor’s waiting room, but the employed people in Canada hate their healthcare system.
1 up, 1mo,
1 reply
It's not. In Canada people diagnosed with curable cancers have to get on a list. By the time they get treatment, many are no longer curable, same in England and elsewhere.
When Fidel Castro had complications with a routine surgery in Cuba, he had to go to another country to get it corrected and he died a horrible painful death. Stop swallowing every utopian lie.

The quality of care matters too more than just time. You're forgetting that. American healthcare is not that great. But Korea has quality healthcare. And BTW, Korea is not Marxist.
1 up, 1mo
Please don't tell me what I'm forgetting. How many decades have you had asthma? How many cancers have you had treated? How many surgeries have you had?I have no clue how Korea comes into this, but you might want to go back to your reliable source and review the results of the last South Korean election.
