But it's not issued voter ID they want (which is standard in every other country, even Afghanistan, and automatic upon reaching voting age), they want additional ID to be brought when you go to vote in an election. Not to register, but to verify who you are. And that would include some sort of official photo ID like a passport or driver's license or government job ID. If you don't travel internationally, drive, or work for the government, you don't vote. That's the law they want.
