Keep in mind, Bill and Hillary were subpoenaed 6 months ago, they were supposed to testify 6 months ago, but have been using legal delaying tactics until there was a final deadline of "contempt of congress". Steve Bannon was held in contempt, arrested and served 4 months in federal prison, but then again, the Democrats were in charge at the time.

Bill and Hillary needed time to coordinate what they were going to say or not say, I am sure. And wouldn't you think that because he was previously president and her Secretary of state they might be able to manipulate the situation for a little longer than most? Where as Democrats wanted to make Steve Bannon an example of what they could do with their power, to try to keep everyone else in line.
