They are illegals, plain and simple

They are people first, and always. When you forget (or ignore) that fact, it's dehumanizing.

If they don’t want to be dehumanized, then they need to not become a criminal in this country by crossing the border ILLEGALLY.

Does crossing the border cause any harm to someone? No it does not. Just because the constitution says they are criminals does not mean they are a danger to American society.

That fullness of potential needs to come about by people that aren’t committing a crime by entering the country illegally

Leviticus 19:33-34 (ESV): "When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God."

And Exodus gets fairly explicit about what happens when you mistreat the strangers in your land.
